FARM TO CLOSET
Joining the Farm to Closet movement, we seek to produce fashion as sustainably and ethically as possible. From seed to sewn product fabric is proudly grown, weaved, and sewn in the United States using Certified Organic cotton.
By utilizing farming and manufacturing in the United States we can guarantee two things: that human rights and liberties are upheld and our product is locally and sustainably produced. Organic Cotton was chosen as a plant based alternative to the plastic based textiles that are commonly used in active wear.
Our organically grown cotton follows strict USDA standards that forbid the use of conventional chemicals, pesticides, and fertilizers. In order to be Organic Certified, the cotton seed cannot be classified as a genetically modified organism (GMO).
Organic farmers promote pests natural enemies— such as birds, beetles, parasite wasps, and lacewigs—in their fields in order to reduce damage to the cotton. Organic farmers will also plant “trap crops” of hibiscus, sunflowers, maize, or okra that pests prefer to consume more than cotton.
